About us

Ghetto Girls is a subsidiary of Life Paradigms, Inc. and is an acronym for Goddesses Have Every Thing To Offer - Grace, Integrity, Renewal, Love, Sisterhood. The word Ghetto is often perceived as negative and used, by some, as a put down. There is no doubt that the Ghetto begets pain, but many of us who are from the Ghetto recognize and honor the spirit, creativity, and Godliness that is also bred so deeply in its denizens. GHETTO GIRLS purpose is to shift the paradigm and remind us of our responsibilities as women, specifically, women of color. The ghetto of Harlem, New York shaped my life and created within me a deep love for my people and the passion to do all that I can to uplift us.

Life Paradigms, Inc. was created in 1996 and received its non-profit 501©3 status in April 2000. The organization was created for the purpose of educating and empowering women of color spiritually, mentally, and emotionally and to create an awareness of the importance of cultural competency. The mission of Life Paradigms, Inc. is to implement positive and critical change in disenfranchised communities through the mental, spiritual and physical development of women and their children.  Through Life Paradigm's programs, women and children learn to recognize their responsibilities to their communities, their families and themselves.
